There’s a belief that Jackapoos don’t shed much due to their poodle half, but it really depends if the puppy/doggy shares the fur coat of the poodle parent or jack russell. If it’s more of the poodle, then you’re in luck! Your Jackapoo shouldn’t be shedding too much.
Now, if it’s more of the jack russell, then it depends if the parent a short hair or long hair Jack Russell. With first generation Jackapoos, it really varies on look, size, behavior and coat. So expect unpredictability. Luckily, Boomer’s dad is a long hair Jack Russell, so Boomer has a silky white/tan coat and doesn’t shed much. (I hope it stays this way).
Yes, there’s two types of JR coat types:
Long Hair (sheds a lot less)
Short Hair

Boomer is now 11 weeks old and growing into a longer body with more muscular limbs. It’s his exercising, running around like a crackhead and climbing up and down stairs. I notice the way he strikes across the fields like lightning bolts and his jumps are less pouncey. He’s no longer a baby, he’s a toddler now- who’s growing super fast. (Thanks to good quality food- Royal Canin!)
So perhaps he is shedding…shedding his baby stage.
PS- Boomer hates the wind blowing in his face.
